Hi,

especially when we do an import from other sources (DocMan...), we have a lot of categories that we need then to update one by one for the access rights notably.
And the the sub-categories do not inherit well from the parent categories, so we are obliged to modify each category individually, which is very long for large legacy to be imported or, even when we want to modify rights on complete sections to the repository due to new categories of users or due change of communication policy.

SO there is a need to be able to select several categories, and then to modify one or ideally several properties of the categories.

Hi, i bump this topic. Dropfiles is a very good component but the lack of inheritance of access right for category is a bit weird, and possibly unsecure.

If a user create a category inside a well access right set category, the new category is automatically "public" so, every files in this new category is not protected by joomla ACL and a link for a file can be shared and dowloaded. I know the category is not visible for the public but it's not enough, the fact that we can share a link is in my case a securtiy problem.

Do you have a plan for fix this issue ?
