is there a way to batch import using the file structure to generate the categories and sub categories?

#1564 Hi,
Nope, the importer allows you to select files from FTP and import it in a selected category already created.
But you can't import a structure.
Cheers,

#1661 but if I import the structure into the database, I can then batch by category then... or if I do that I can but the files in a directory in Joomla, and perhaps map the table structure in the database, and then import from there (to database, not through the extension)

#1662 Hi,
Yes of course it can be done, it require some database work.
Categories are indexed in the database so you can create categories from the database.

#1663 great, and that's what I thought. We're planning on using this with a client that has multiple brands (websites) for their b2b. We want a solid document management platform. I had a pending question about thumbnails that would help us move forward with this extension.

#1669 Hi,
I can't give you a solid release date because we haven't started the version 3 yet, we just have feature in our release system.
We are currently working on an integration of all the tools in a free advanced editor (see attached). Once we're done, we're going back to droppics/dropfiles.
I let you know for sure!
