I want to add new files to existing products and let old customers be able to see/download them.
Same thing if I delete files, the customers should not see them in the download list. Is that possible in WP File Download?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Normally, users should order products to download files. In your case, users should order products, then you can manually change the order status.
Finally, your specific users can download files.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

If I'm understanding the original question here, I think my question is very similar... Does this plugin allow you to "drip" content to users? For example, a customer purchases a product that gives them access to 3 PDFs, but two months later, I want to add a 4th PDF... Does the user who already purchased the item get notified that a new downloadable file has been added to their previous order? Or would they have to reorder it to get access?

This is exactly what I have been looking for more than a year. Found nothing with possibility, unfortunately.

So I had a chat with the pre-sales team and they essentially told me that if a customer buys a downloadable product and then I add another downloadable file to it after purchase, the user DOES have access to the new file, but DOES NOT get a notification. All the WP File Download email notification settings are for notifying the admins of something, not the customers.

The potential solution we are looking at is using MailChimp to add customers to particular mailing lists based on the product(s) they purchase so if we update a product, we can send an email blast to anyone who purchased the product and let them know new files are added. Not a perfect solution, but it's a useable workaround. Good luck!
