Hi there,

Your plugin looks great, but we have some questions before purchase that are important to us. Currently we run a newswebsite on WordPress with about 25.000+ images. Most of them are used for the highligted image at every post. Some images are in article. All images are within the range of 1400x600px and compressed at 80% (between 70 and 150KB per image)

- Can we sync higlighted images to our Google Drive and then delete the image in WP Media Library?
- Will the description in current WP Media Library below our images, with very important copright info, stay intact after that?
- Does the answers to the above questions also appy for in-article images?
- Can we in fact have all our images on Google Drive and in a Virtual Folder with your plugin in WP Media Library?
- Could having all images (about 45GB now) hosted in Google Drive speed up our website?
- What happens if we link to an image on Google Drive with the other images formats set by a theme? Do they automaicly (re)generate?
- Will transfering the images to Google Drive create redirect for each image, or do we need to replace each image by hand with a URL to Google Drive?
- We currently use Real Media Library and the Physical Custom Upload Dir for Real Media Library plugin. Does your plugin import their settings/foldernames or do the disappear?
- Does hotlinking our images from our Google Drive have any negative impact on Google Rankings or is it in anyway in violation with their rules?

Well, I know it's a lot of questions, but it's also a lot of data to change from one plugin to another. So I hope you will have the time to answer my questions. I do thank you in advance for your time and efforts.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

- Will the description in current WP Media Library below our images, with very important copright info, stay intact after that?

Yes, our plugin is based on WP Media manager, we just create virtual folders in library to manage media files.
So you can use our plugin anywhere you can use Media library, such as: insert media to posts/pages, images for products in WooCommerce.

- Could having all images (about 45GB now) hosted in Google Drive speed up our website?
- What happens if we link to an image on Google Drive with the other images formats set by a theme? Do they automaicly (re)generate?

It will load your files in Media library when scrolling, so it will not depend how large all your images stored in Google Drive.
Only one image on Google Drive will be linked with one image in the Media library (it will not be created automatically following formats).

When sync Media library with Google Drive, there will be a root folder generated in your Drive. Then your new files are uploaded in Media library will be synced within that folder.
You should move your existed files on your drive to that root folder to sync to Media library. You do not have to replace anything, you just upload files to cloud folders in media library.
And files are actually stored at Google Drive, we just index files information in the library.

Please go to our documentation for more details:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-documentation/wp-media-folder/286-wp-media-folder-addon-google-drive-integration#toc-3-what-can-i-do-with-google-drive-media-

We have an option to import virtual structure Real Media Library plugin to our plugin.
You can move files from the library to Google Drive, but you should backup your website first to avoid unfortunate cases.

Hope this helps!

Hi there,

We bought your plugin with all add-ons. We still don't know how to get existing images (20.000 from our WP Media Library into Google Drive. Our Google Drive is connected correctly, but only if we upload an image to a virtual folder it goes directly into Google Drive. But what about all the images that are already in de WP Media Library. How to get them into Google Drive without having to download all 20.000+ images to our pc with FTP and upload them again into the virtual folder?

Another issue we encounter is that some images that are uploaded into the virtual folder are not visible (see screenshot-1) although the do show once you click on them for editting

More info: we followed instructions given on https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-products/wp-media-folder/import-synchronize-server-folders-with-the-wordpress-media

But if we coe to to part of A selection of Folders and media and then choose Select Folders we only see the Google Drive Folder, and not the folders in wp-content/uploads folder

All we want is to synchronise all images from our Wordpress to our Google Drive Map and then delete all images in Wordpress it self so images are served thrue Google Drive.

Or do we need to download each image individualy and upload it again to the virtual google drive map in WP media library? And do we need to select all images on al post from scrap again?

That would be almost a mission impossible with 20.000+ post and images. Any assitance and help appriciated. Thanks!
