Hi,

My client wants to create a folder that contains files (pdf) accessible for all his clients/users that are registerd on the site (and later on maybe for specific users).
Seems like this plugin is a good way to go.

My question:
The users have custom coded profile pages in WP in which we then will need to show the files from the restricted media folder(s).
Will that be possible? Code example or snippet available?

In our plugin, you can restrict users to access WP media at the backend By Role or By User.
So users can access their folders and upload files or they can see other files are uploaded from others in their folders
if the "Display all media in user folder" option is enabled in settings.

Hi,

Yes, I understand the access restriction possibilities.
But I'm wondering if we then can show this restricted file content directly in a custom profile page of the user. Instead of via Media Library.

If you want to restrict users to see a specific folder on frontend, you can use our WP File download.

Indeed, I also see it has a shortcode generator, which we then can use in the custom profile page.

The "Category Shortcode Generator" option helps you to display all files in all categories or files in a selected category.
Of course, users will not see files or categories that they do not have permission to access.
You can use the "Category shortcode" in each category settings to display files on the frontend.
