Multisite support. I see it says multisite in the purchase option but have not found any details as to what that supports. I have a Wordpress Multiste install with 8 similar sites that need to share images. I am looking for a solution that will help organize the images and reuse them across the sites.

1. Does WP Media Folder work with multisite in that scenario? and how?

2. If I was to add the S3 plugin and set each site to the same bucket would that allow me to replicate the folder structure and images across sites?

3. If I add alt and meta info to the images is that replicated either with the S3 solution or your multisite implication (if it is actually multisite capable)

4. Sometimes it is easiest to just purchase the license and test it out to see if it works for my need. Can I do that and if it does not work get a refund?

Thanks for any help!!

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

You can install our plugin on any sites you have; but on multisite, each site has its own structure folders.

2. If I was to add the S3 plugin and set each site to the same bucket would that allow me to replicate the folder structure and images across sites?

Our folders are virtual, files are actually stored at WP Media url following your settings.
e.g: wp-content\uploads\2020\03\yourfiles.png
So it could not sync the folder structure on our plugin to S3.

3. If I add alt and meta info to the images is that replicated either with the S3 solution or your multisite implication (if it is actually multisite capable)

The alt and meta infor are not included when uploading to S3. Only the images will be uploaded.

4. Sometimes it is easiest to just purchase the license and test it out to see if it works for my need. Can I do that and if it does not work get a refund?

Yes, you can check our refund policy: https://www.joomunited.com/refund-policy

Hope it helps!

Does the plugin delete the files after being uploaded to S3 from the hosted server?

Does this plugin not connect with AWS S3 and works with the folders inside the bucket?

As in creating a folder and that folder work with your plugins folders?

If you gave it the right permissions it could do that, and then it would be able to do exactly what this person and I need from a WordPress network site, right?

Yes, we have that option so you can enable if needed.

This feature is not implemented yet. We support to upload files from WP Media to S3 currently.

If you gave it the right permissions it could do that, and then it would be able to do exactly what this person and I need from a WordPress network site, right?

Sorry, what do you mean exactly here, you can go to our documentation for more details:

What I mean is that you could have your plugin creating and deleting folders with the right permissions. I found a plugin that does that but yours looks so much cooler to be honest so I was wanting to use yours. The plugin I mentioned : https://themedev.net/wp-aws-s3/

When you get that feature to be able to create/delete folders inside the actual bucket please let me know so I can use your plugin exclusively for my clients.

I'd like them to be able to create a folder inside the bucket and be able to access it from your plugins media dashboard. This way they can do things like upload a mp4 to an input folder and it auto encode video files that will be sent to and output folder and be able to access both folders from their dashboard.

It would also be great to be able to access the exact same bucket on another wordpress website if given the correct access information so that a multisite or even multiple websites owned by the same client can access the files.

Hi Abb,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

That seems not possible in our plugin currently, we will consider it for a future version.

Cheers,
