No, it will not update if the filename still the same.

Example: I upload a pdf file on dropbox with 3 pages, put a link on my webpage. Than I change the file on dropbox to 5 pages (the name stays the same) will the link on my webpage then show the pdf with 5 pages or still the one with 3 pages?

That means you remove the old files on Dropbox and upload a new one with the same filename.
If that's your manner, the answer is yes. It will update the content of your new file, no matter what its filename is.
