Combine media files from WordPress and MediaWiki

I use WordPress and MediaWiki at the same domain and try to combine the media files so I only have one media library instead of two.

Is your plugin able to access media folders that are on the same domain but not within the /wordpress directory?

If not, I could try to set the image upload path of MediaWiki to /wordpress/wp-content/uploads. Would your plugin detect that there are new pics (uploaded by MediaWiki) and new subfolders?
