I have a question regarding the WP-File-Download plugin for Wordpress (Version 5).

We have two user levels, where some downloads require the user to be logged in. However, is it possible to show the restricted downloads to users that are not logged in but greyed out or show them as locked.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

In your case, you can disable Download or Preview button on category view for each user roles.
Please go here for more information:

Hope this helps!

Thanks but I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing.

If you are not logged in, I'm keen that you can see all the files, but they are locked for both download and preview. If they click the file it says something like 'you must be logged in to view or download this file'.

It's a very common feature.

I do hope you support this.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

Yes, I got it but if you want to appear the login form you should customize or you can use hide content plugin.
Besides, we could implement this feature after exploring its technic and neccessarity.

Hope this helps!

Hi team,

Sorry but it is still not clear to me. This is a simple example:

[*] 5 files in total. 3 files need you to be logged-in to view or download and 2 are available to everyone.
[*] When you are not logged-in you see all 5 files, but files that require login are shown as locked, and if you click them it states ' To view or download this file you need to be logged-in'

Or as a miniumum, if the search yeilds no results the generic text 'Sorry, we haven't found anything that matches this search query' should be changed to Sorry, we haven't found anything that matches this search query, please log in to access the files.'

This is a very common feature, and I hope this makes sense.

Kind regards,

Henry
