Hi,

I would like to use this plugin to manage a dealer download section for a client.

They have different types of dealers that need access to files based on their dealer level.

I see that the plugin has user roles already (admin, editor, contributor, customer,). Is it possible to add new user types to these roles so that it would be easier to manage the files that the dealers have access to?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Yes, our plugin is based on WP roles so you can create more roles with 3rd party plugins.
E.g: User Role Editor, Role Editor,...

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the reply. One more question.

Do the WordPress roles control who can create and add files, or who can see and download files?

I need to control who can see and download files not who can upload new files or add new categories.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

You can set User Roles of our plugin, that's for backend site, for more information:
https://www.joomunited.com/documentation/wp-file-download-documentation#toc-manage-personal-user-file-repository

And if you want to set visibility for files on frontend, you can see this part below:

Hope it helps!
Cheers,
