Hello, we have to make a catalog of files classified by categories and subcategories.
The problem is that there will be mixed PDF files and Videos within each category.
1.- Would it be possible to carry out this project with Dropfiles?
2.- If the Videos are published on youtube and are not saved locally. Would it be possible to view local PDFs along with remote videos in the same category?
3.- Would it be possible from the frontend to publish a video hosted on youtube?

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Yes, you can upload and display any file types in a category in Dropfiles.

2.- If the Videos are published on youtube and are not saved locally. Would it be possible to view local PDFs along with remote videos in the same category?
3.- Would it be possible from the frontend to publish a video hosted on youtube?

It's not possible to insert videos from Youtube. You can add remote videos but the link should be: e.g: https://joomunited.com/sample-video.mp4.
All remote files will not be displayed the Preview button on frontend as normally. They will be watched when you click on the title.

Or you can connect to Cloud server (Google Drive, Dropbox,..) to offload your space on server, so you can use all features as the files are uploaded to Dropfiles.
You can see more information about this on our documentation or Dropfiles page at JOOMLA + GOOGLE DRIVE, DROPBOX ET ONEDRIVE section.

Hope it helps!

The Google drive solution is perfect, but the problem is that it is hundreds of videos and the documentation does not clarify if there is a possibility that there is no synchronization and that the files are called remotely.
The goal is not to overload the local server with hundreds or thousands of files that are already stored in Google Drive. Both videos and PDF, Excel and Word files are currently in Google Drive.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

Yes, you can sync your files from your Google Drive to Dropfiles. And of course, your new files are updated automatically to Dropfiles in period depending on your settings.
Obviously, files are actually not stored at your server site. Please go to these links below to take a deeper look at how it will work:
