hello,
we're currently searching for a dropbox like solution with our joomla system - main idea is to replace files sent to us via mail etc with a solution that already recognizes a user, so we have files attached to a persona automatically. we'd need 2 parts and therefore I'd like to ask if this is possible with your software:

1) a user should by default have his own place where he can simply upload files, create new folders etc. he only has access to his own space and files can't be seen from outside (by default) except by the super admin. (like dropbox, you login to your account and you can put stuff there without having to configure / create anything first, just dump everything in there...)

2) when a user uploads a new file the super admin (or someone else specified in the system) is notified via mail

that's basically it - would appreciate an answer and hope that your software can do that.
thanks

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.
1) a user should by default have his own place where he can simply upload files, create new folders etc. he only has access to his own space and files can't be seen from outside (by default) except by the super admin. (like dropbox, you login to your account and you can put stuff there without having to configure / create anything first, just dump everything in there...)

Yes, you can do it all with with our Dropfiles but it will not generate the Category automatically when you create an user.

Hope it helps!

thanks for the quick response. to make sure I get it right, does it mean I have to specify a category folder manually per user?

what we actually thought of ist this:
1 user registers a joomla account (registered user ACL)
2 user automatically has his new "space" where he can upload files - his sandbox if you will

so this is not possible?
thank you

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.
1 user registers a joomla account (registered user ACL)
2 user automatically has his new "space" where he can upload files - his sandbox if you will

Anyway, let me explain more details about the file management feature on front-end.
First, you can set a registered user the role to access File management on front-end.
Then he can view and create his own categories and upload files there. And of course, admin can view his categories and files.
It will not generate or grant automatically him any access to the existed categories.
You can adjust at Permission tab in Configuration: https://www.joomunited.com/documentation/dropfiles-documentation#toc-4-3-acl-file-permission

Hope you understand!
Cheers,
