Was looking to replace native Joomla editor with something a bit more slick. But, while on your site noticed Dropfiles as a potential DocMan replacement. We use DocMan extensively at present as our go to tool for running Board paper distribution and archive tools for charities. But, it is a bit clunky. My interest in Dropfiles is piqued, but I noticed immediately a "download" button as well as the "preview". Is it possible to suppress the "Download" option as our users would be reading the documents on iPads or similar.

We use a Docman menu item which generates a tree based on the category you select for the menu item. Is your system based only on inserting into articles, or is there the option to use other content types too?

I private message, I can arrange to let you see another example where we use Docman to archive an academic journal for another charity. I am interested in Dropfiles, but do have several more detailed questions before purchasing or migrating.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Yes, you can disable Download button and show the Preview button only in our Dropfiles.
And Docman file importer is integrated into our extension.

You can list files in Dropfiles using Menu item. Please go here for more details:

Hope this helps!

Thank you. I think your approach is different; it appears to list the content for the category into an article.

Docman inserts a tree into the module position. You create a Docman menu item, create a module of type menu and what appears is in the attached image. I want this "Explorer"-like approach. Clicking on the menu item puts a table in the main content position with a list of the documents within that sub-category (or sub-sub-category).
