Split US states while creating regions?

I will be grouping US states together to form regions for sales associates. Some of the regions share a state. For example, one sales associate has northern Illinois and another has southern Illinois. It doesn't seem like I can split Illinois with two different colors. Is this correct?

Yes this is how linkymap is working
You can use same colour for state that you want to group and use same code ext to make it working

I bought Linky Map because you made it seem that I could color one state with two different colors. Like in my example about one color for northern Illinois and a second color for southern Illinois. After install and configuring Linky Map, I discovered that it doesn't allow this.
