I have a client that has a LOT of PDF, DOCX, and VIDEO files in their Joomla media manager (about 36GB worth).
All these files are necessary for their business operations, however the site is too large to back up and maintain using conventional backup solutions like Akeeba Backup.
So I am looking for a solution that I can offload these files to Google Drive and simply embed the Google Drive categories and documents into their articles for the users to preview and download the files.

1. The main question is, can we use Dropfiles and have it NOT sync the documents back to the Joomla site/server and just have all the files served from Google Drive?
2. If this is possible are their any limitations with using the Joomla ACL to restrict access to the categories and files?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here.
1. Our Dropfiles is enable to sync to Google Drive and it doesn't sync back to Joomla site certainly. The files are stored only on Google Drive.
2. Yes, we have file access restriction feature using the Joomla ACL. You can access this link for more detail: https://www.demo-joomunited.com/dropfiles/dropfiles-presentation
