Hi there,

Are you planning on implementing this feature?
It seems to make sense to show all files from sub categories in the parent category.
That way you can show all files on the parent page of your website and just the relevant files on the sub pages.
If not, what is the point of having sub categories?

Messi89, did you manage to get this to work yourself?

I like having files only appearing only in the parent OR child (sub) folder. When you have a LOT of files available for download (think hundreds or thousands) and 20 to 50 per folder, then having the SAME files appear in parent folders results in a HUGE number of items and confusion for the end user. For example, "Hmmm, here is a copy of the Bylaws in the Public Documents Folder, but there is also one in the Governing Documents sub-folder. I wonder if they are the same." Then people need to compare date etc. Yes, the dates and other stats will be the same, but it introduces doubt and costs time for double checking.

So for me, the purpose of sub-folders is to organize files into logical categories with a reasonable number files to evaluate. I think it is intuitive to drill down to find what you are looking for if your categories are well named. And that beats scanning hundreds of files in a Parent folder.

Hope this helps.
