Limit the visibility of files by WordPress user roles

Thanks for adding your feature request here.

We need the possibility to limit the visibility of files (not only categories) by WordPress user roles.

This feature is not implemented yet. However, you can overcome by putting that file to a category and set the role for it.
Honestly, you are the first person who request this feature. As I see, it seems to focus on the small amount of users.

Yes we could do this workaround. But we have a lot of files, categories and users/user roles. And with the workaround we would increase the amount of categories enormously. So that doesn´t work for us.

Yes, I got your issue. We need time to take a look at that and study about its popularity.
