Ability to "import" files manually via ssh

I have a requirement where I need to be able to FTP files into a category that is created within WPFD and then have them show up in the front-end to the customer via the website.

Right now, there is only an import feature via the Wordpress admin backend so even if I FTP a file to the proper category, it doesn't show up in the file manager back/front end until I go thru the import file feature via the dashboard.

I need to be able to somehow run a script or php file that WPDL comes with via ssh to import the uploaded files into the proper category so they can show up in the back/frontend for the users. I'd then setup a cronjob so that script runs automatically.

I need this feature pretty urgently.
