developing and then using my maps in wordpress

I am very interested in designing and embedding custom maps in my wordpress site and am quite prepared to purchase the my maps sticky maps bundle you have. However I am not at all familiar with Joomia as a platform , although i can do a moderate amount of html and css coding myself (e.g. I still use dreamweaver) - 2 questions:
1) what software do I need to install/have in order to develop custom google maps using your Map extensions
2) will the resulting files/code etc be easily embeddable within my wordpress site?
