File management upload/download must be one of the worst supported categories in Joomla. So far I have wasted days trying to find something that will do what I need (not very big requirements), but nothing works.

School website. Each teacher needs to be able to upload files to their category (classroom name). I then need a module to display the files on the classroom page. People click the file link and download. Teachers should also be able to delete and edit files on the frontend.

Sounds easy, but nothing so far has worked.

Can dropfiles do this? I'm not interested in paying for a 3rd component that promises lots and delivers nothing (already have 2 of those).

Hi,

Yeah it's always not simple when we talk on frontend submission. OK let's explain:

Each teacher needs to be able to upload files to their category

This is currently possible from frontend, you can setup ACL to access only their category of files and manage files only in those categories.

I then need a module to display the files on the classroom page.

Of course you can add files from a category in a module. In the next version, currently started, we'll add the possibility to add a form submission for files in a pre selected category (forced). It may help too.

Cheers,
