Hi,

A member of my team recently purchased the plugin and I'm setting it up. Question about setup. Our organization is subdivided into regions, and then into chapters. I'd like to give region admins (a custom role) read/ write access to a region folder and its chapter subfolders, and chapter admins (again, a custom role) read access only to their respective region folder, but read/ write access to their chapter subfolder. Is this doable?

See below for folder/ role structure.

Organization
- Region 1 (read/ write for Region 1 admin, read access for Chapter admins in Region 1 group)
--- Chapter A (read/ write for Region admin and Chapter A admins, no access for other Chapter admins)
--- Chapter B (read/ write for Region admin and Chapter B admins, no access for other Chapter admins)

- Region 2 (read/ write for Region 2 admin, read access for Chapter admins in Region 2 group)
--- Chapter C (read/ write for Region admin and Chapter C admins, no access for other Chapter admins)
--- Chapter D (read/ write for Region admin and Chapter D admins, no access for other Chapter admins)

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

If users are set admin role, they can see all folders in plugin.
Users can view their folders if you set the Access by Role, for more details:

Btw, do you mean WP Media Folder or WP File Download?

Sorry, I should have used a term other than "admin" for the roles I'm referring to. The roles are actually custom, and not admins in the traditional Wordpress sense.

And yes, I was referring to WP Media Folder, which is what we purchased. But I think we may need to switch to File Download.

Users will see the folders created by them only.

And yes, I was referring to WP Media Folder, which is what we purchased. But I think we may need to switch to File Download.

If you want to set users' permission for the folders created by admin, you should use our WP File download plugin.
